Work for the member show is a 12" square format mounted on a stretched canvas. With this such an accessible size, many of us should have the time and heart to submit! Here are the submission guidelines:

You do have to be an SDA member to attend the conference or submit work to any of the exhibitions but attending the diverse other exhibitions is well worth the price of your dues.

I (arlee barr)have a 5 page article in the newest issue of Art Quilting Studio Winter 2013, available on the newstands Dec 1st, or by order from their site. This issue is one of the best i have seen of this magazine and the best i think in a long time from any textile arts publication. I may be a *bit* prejudiced, but even if i weren’t in it i would feel so inspired and "hawt to trot" that my copy would be limp from use :) I highly recommend the other artists and articles as well--much surface design in many forms by several talented names.

"Windswept Pines" was bought through The Alberta Foundations for the Arts Acquisitions. It was a long process but I am honoured and excited about being part of such a great collection. I would not have happened without your support and help.
Call for Entry We are pleased to announce a call for entries for a travelling exhibition entitled "Celebrating African Grandmothers, Heroes of the continent." The link for the call to artists is http://www.royalcitygogos.org/art-show.html This is the third in a series of art exhibits to tour western Canada. You may recall the textile show "Turning the Tide...one ripple at a time" that toured hosted in 2010. This exhibit continues that tradition however, it is not limited to but will include textile art. Partial proceeds to the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation. There is also a lovely shop on this site, proceeds from which go to supporting the "Grandmother Power" cause and foundation.
